twowaysTitle: Two Ways West

Author: Marilyn Meredith

Summary: A fictional, historical family saga based on family genealogy about two families who travel west for different reasons and in different ways.

The Osborns traveled by wagon train along the Mormon trail to California. The Crabtrees journeyed by burro and horse through Mexico to the same destination. TWO WAYS WEST is the story of these two families, of their hopes and dreams, triumphs and tragedies. Narrated in vivid detail, TWO WAYS WEST is a chronicle of human beings who rise to the challenge of life and conquer their fears and shortcomings to achieve greatness.

Review:  No mushy romance here! This author covers the trek of two families. Part One covers the trek of John and Rebecca. She was only twelve and he was fresh out of the war when they go married. The settle down in various places in the nation, but John's wandering spirit always has them moving within a few years.
Part II covers Ashbel and Janey. Janey had always been a sickly child, but once married she changes. She still looks fragile but is stronger than she appears.
Part III is the story of New and Tempe. Newt is the son of the couple in Part One, Tempe is the daughter of the couple in Part II. The families meet and the next generation begins its story.
A very fast paced book! You see generations pass. Begins in 1815 and ends in 1888. A memorable book both men and women will enjoy. - Huntress Book Review
